180-gram black vinyl. The Commodore Master Takes offers an amazing overview of Billie Holiday's legendary Commodore sessions. These sessions, recorded between 1939 and 1944, are considered by many to be Holiday's finest recordings. The album opens with the impressive "Strange Fruit," which was considered too controversial for it's time by other labels and became part of these sessions. The album also includes classics such as "I'll Be Seeing You" and "As Time Goes By".
